Givenchy Healthy Glow Powder

As you all probably know, I had the fortunate opportunity to attend the Givenchy Bloggers event some few days ago, and as a bit of a surprise, us ladies got a chance to try out some of the products from the brand. This was one of the products I received and is probably one of the more popular items on the market. This "Healthy Glow Powder" supposedly has a gelish texture that allows it to better mimic the texture of skin; I would agree that its formulation is quite different from that of a normal powder.

Just by looking at other reviews online, a lot of people tend to favour this product as a bronzer and it does come in a small variety of shades (four, think). The colour I received was in Ambre (03), which is the bestseller in its range, but it doesn't work too well with my darker skin. I'd imagine this look best on individuals with more medium and lighter skin tone that is if you want to use this as a bronzer. As a highlighter, however, it works really nicely.

The packaging on this, firstly, is quite stunning. For some reason it reminds me a little of "mini wheat" know, the little wheat characters on the commercials? I hope I'm not crazy by noticing this but seriously, look at it--MINI WHEATS! Yes, yes, for the actually product.

I swatched it on my hand and it pretty much blends into my skin but their is a very subtle sheen to it that is a little more apparent on the next image. It doesn't have any glitter, rather the gelish formulation allows it to give of a certain "glow". I like that. It isn't overtly obvious but it isn't completely absent. I probably would have had better luck with a different colour, which I will definitely look into. If you are lighter than me though, I'd recommend you give it try. It is a bit pricey at C$55, but that is what you get with high end cosmetics. Let me know your thoughts on the product below.
