Petite Chanel Haul

I went to the Chanel counter the other day to take a look at the new Chanel foundations called Perfection Lumiere. I was matched up to number 64 but had to eventually return it because of the undertone. I wanted to return the product, seeing as it was 55 dollars canadian but I was only allowed to make an exchange. (This irritated me) I ended up choosing two products that I have been eyeing for a while, the Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadow in Ebloui and the new Spring Collection nail lacquer in June

The Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadow is unlike many other cream products I own. The texture is incredibly soft but dry and blends beautifully on the skin. The colour itself can be described as a rusty bronze colour with more purple undertones. It has a lot of sparkles though!

I wanted to see how comparable these shadows were to Makeup Forever's Aqua Creams so I whipped out the closest colour I had to the Chanel shade. Although they look the same, they have completely different undertones. The Makeup Forever one, in number 11, has definite red brown undertones, while the Chanel one is more purple.

Sorry for the unclear images. The lighting was so warm and bright and my camera was being very uncooperative. :( The finish of the Chanel shadow, although hard to see, is more of a semi-sheen but is loaded with multi-colour sparkles, which do not show as well. Makeup Forever Aqua creams have a very strong metallic finish. The Chanel shadow is more light and softer.

I also ended up splurging on this Chanel nail lacquer in June, which, I might add, couldn't be the more perfect colour for me. I love peach anything, especially peach polishes, and this colour just so happened to be named after my birth month! What a coincident! You must imagine, then, how many variations of peach nail polishes I own, huh? Well, I decided to show you a comparison of this as well.

They make look very similar, but I was thankful to find that Chanel is nothing like any of the other peach polishes I own. Unlike, most of the shades, Chanel's June has a very strong yellow undertone, making it more of a tangerine peachy hue. I thought, if anything, China Glazes' peachy keen would be a perfect dupe but it was not. Peachykeen was definitely more orange and the others were simply too pink.

I am just so obsessed with all these hues and I totally recommend any of them for you to try, especially the Chanel's June. I must admit though, it is incredibly pricey! I think its the most I've ever spent on a nail polish. However, the name and the colour was just so perfect, I couldn't resist.

I almost always wear peach shades because it suits my skin tone more than any other colour but I do switch it up here and there, like today, for instances.

CHINA GLAZE SAND TROPEZ (BASE) SEPHORA BY OPI WHAT'S A TIRE JACK (BLACK SPOTS) & DEBORAH LIPPMAN SUPERSTAR (GLITTER)
I hope you guys enjoyed this mini haul. Please excuse my pictures. They just didn't seem to come out as well as I'd like them too but I hope they were adequate enough for you to get the jest of the products.

Anyway, what new items have you picked up lately? Also, what would be your favourite shade of colour to wear?
