March 2012 GlossyBox Canada

Many of you ladies know that I wasn't to happy with my Luxe Box that I received during the months of December and January, which ultimately led me to unsubscribe. A friend of mine mentioned to me that GlossyBox came out in Canada, and I immediately subscribe. I was, however, a little weary of the price tag, which is much more higher than most at $15 per month. I did so anyways because many of my favourite UK ladies rave about the company. So, here is what I got in the box this month!

Firstly, let's talk about the packaging! I absolutely adore it and doesn't it match my blog so well? Ah, it was meant to be ladies, it was meant to be.

First thing when I lifted the lid was the pretty bow. My name was not on the sticker though but that is not important. It's what's inside that counts. Also, I imagine it was an extra step since GlossyBox did send this late and it was probably too time consuming?

So, in this box we received six deluxe samples, although I think two were full sized products according to the card.

01 Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion - 345 ml/$11.99
02 Bailey Cosmetics Fresh Lipgloss in Berry - 8g/$28.00 (I think this is full size)
03 Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray - 50ml/$7.00
04 Pandora's Blush in St. Tropez - $18.00
05 Sebastian Re-Shaper Hairspray - 43g/$19.95 (Full size?)
06 Algemarin Foam Bath - 750 ml/$23.99

The box was filled with all those nice squiggly things I like and on top sits the products. Nothing new here, pretty standard for the boxes.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion - This is a very nice size sample. I actually own this already, in fact, it's sitting on my counter as we speak. I usually carry this with me in my bag because I tend to have extremely dry hands. I can now have two! It's safe to say, that I enjoy this product very much.

Evian Brumisateur Facial Spray - This facial spray is almost like Mac's Fix+, which I don't like too much, but this was has a very nice fresh scent to it. I tried it on and it seemed to work pretty well. I like the size of this as it would fit very nicely into my bag.

Sebastian Re-Shaper Hairspray - I have tried a few of Sebastian's hair products and I really like then, especially their normal hairspray and thickefying foam. I cannot wait to give this a try especially since it claims to allow you to brush your hair with the hair spray on. I think GlossyBox might have made a mistake in saying this was a full sized product because I would not pay 20 bucks for such a tiny bottle. I also have their normal hairspray, which is the same price and hella a lot bigger.

Bailey Cosmetics Fresh Lipgloss in Berry - I want to say this is a full sized product because it is very large for a sample. If that is the case, then this is worth two boxes! I really like the packaging on this and the colour is a very pretty berry stain. It doesn't feel sticky and has a fairly normal scent.

Pandora's Blush in St. Tropez - GlossyBox gave us a little sneak peak at this product on their Facebook page and it was verified that it was a Pandora blush. I really like the packaging. It's very, very cute and it is made out of a card board material.

My only wish was that the colour was a little bit more universally flattering. When swatched, although pigmented, is a little too light for me. I am not a fan of pink blushes anyway, peaches and coral are more my thing. I'd probably give this to my mum since she is much lighter than me.

Algemarin Foam Bath - This was last product in the box and a bonus according the company. It's a sample size of a foam bath thing... I think it's like a bubble bath? I haven't tried it yet, but I don't really care for it.

So, that was all that was in my box this month. It was my first month receiving anything and so far, I am very impressed. There was a little mishap with the shipment because GlossyBox shipped out the boxes way later than usual. (Usually shipped in the beginning of the month, but came at the end, this month.) And although that caused a lot of frustrations among many, including myself, I was really happy with the professionalism and courteousness GlossyBox had with giving their subscribers continuous updates on the progress. The also gave us 250 glossy dots for the trouble, although I got twice that amount (yay!), so that made up for it.

I hope you guys enjoyed this quick review and overview of the box. Let me know what you think and look into subscribing if you live in Canada. Definitely better than my Luxe Box. :D
